Archipelago’s Electronic Monitoring (EM) Program is seeking a motivated individual to view video imagery and process sensor data captured aboard fishing vessels. Hours of work are irregular and daytime with some evening and weekend work will be required. Any additional training required will be provided to suitable candidates.

DUTIES:

• Review Electronic Monitoring image data
• Interpretation of fishing data captured by Electronic Monitoring systems
• Data entry of information generated within the fishery monitoring projects
• Assess and provide feedback on data quality and other data issues
• Maintenance of data storage and filing systems
• Routine and ad hoc data reporting including electronic uploading of data

• Some post secondary education in a related discipline
• Computing experience including good data entry skills
• Highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules including irregular hours
• Ability to work independently, follows procedures, and meets strict timelines
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and cope with tedious work
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
• Commercial fishing knowledge and/or experience an asset
