Grace Long

Grace first moved to Vancouver Island to complete a BA in Geography with a geomatics focus at UVic. That led to a co-op term at Archipelago as a Data Technician in 2023, where she worked on geoduck, salmon, and shrimp projects. After finishing her degree, she came back full-time and picked up GHL work alongside her existing projects. In her first full year, clients took notice of her ability to deliver solid work on tight timelines. She taught herself how to enter and export shrimp trawl logbook data to DFO. She also rewrote a procedures manual that no one had updated in nearly a decade, retiring the Access 2009 instructions in favour of Access 2016. Grace is now a Coordinator for Fisheries Programs. Outside the office, she is usually hunting for a new campsite, hosting a BBQ bash, or reading at the beach.
