Kristin Westman
Kristin has more than twelve years of aquatic work experience with her primary focus being on the marine environment. Kristin has a Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity – covering aspects of how everything beneath the ocean surface is related in terms of both taxonomy and ecology. Kristin’s fascination with the natural world started early while exploring the seas with family onboard grandad’s self-built wooden sailboat in Norway, and interacting with wildlife as she grew up in various parts of Latin America. Canada’s vast natural beauty and diversity is what thrilled Kristin to embark on her career as a marine biologist. Kristin’s skilled experiences include 14 years in British Columbia, six seasons in the Canadian Arctic, and three seasons in Norway. She is a certified WCB occupational diver with experience leading dive programs. She is also a mariner and generally an avid outdoors person.
