Megan Thompson

Meg joined Archipelago with a background in scientific diving and marine field research. She is a DCBC-certified commercial diver and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor who earned her first recreational dive certification in 2011. Originally from the Cayman Islands, Meg grew up on and around the water before moving to Victoria to pursue her studies, graduating with a BSc in Marine Biology from the University of Victoria in 2024.

Her experience includes underwater surveys, BRUV and ROV deployments, and remote field logistics in coastal and offshore environments. Meg is passionate about marine conservation and responsible ocean stewardship and is particularly committed to working collaboratively with Indigenous communities, local stakeholders, and industry to support practical, science-based environmental solutions.
