ABOUT ARCHIPELAGO
A History of Building Trust Through Data.
Archipelago delivers monitoring systems and data products that help organizations make confident, defensible decisions. With more than 45 years of field experience, we design and operate programs that turn complex activity into clear evidence through integrated data capture, efficient review workflows, and structured reporting.
Headquartered in Victoria, BC and established in 1978, we support clients around the world with an objective, third-party approach built for accountability and scale. Our teams combine practical deployment expertise with software-driven analysis to strengthen oversight, improve transparency, and support responsible outcomes.
With regional offices in Canada, the United States, and Asia Pacific, Archipelago supports monitoring programs from collection through reporting, including observer services, electronic monitoring, and environmental services.

VISION
Make sustainability measurable at scale. We envision a future where oversight is faster, clearer, and consistent because high-quality data flows reliably from field collection to reporting.

MISSION
Deliver integrated tools and workflows that capture, review, and report monitoring data efficiently. We help programs reduce uncertainty, strengthen oversight, and document outcomes with confidence.

Where We Fit in the Future of Environmental Technology.
Archipelago works where complex field conditions meet high expectations for data quality. Across decades of program delivery, we have supported a wide range of operating environments, technical requirements, and stakeholder needs, refining how monitoring data is captured, validated, and reported.
As environmental technology evolves, our role is to make evidence more usable at scale. We build and operate systems and workflows that turn real-world activity into clear, defensible information, helping teams strengthen oversight, planning, and reporting.
Careers
Based in Victoria, with offices across the United States, Australia, and British Columbia’s busiest fishing ports, our team includes biologists, at-sea observers, dockside monitors, and technicians, among many other roles. We work with fisheries, regulators, industry, and coastal communities around the world.
Our Work
We maintain a varied portfolio of marine resource management programs and services for fisheries, governments, and coastal communities. These case studies and highlights of the work we have done illustrate a few of our many applications featuring fisheries monitoring technologies, observer programs (at sea and dockside), and marine environmental planning, assessment and evaluation.
Team
We offer a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, consultants, biologists, and software developers focused on practical, field-ready solutions for fisheries and environmental programs, from planning and deployment through analysis and reporting.
