Archipelago receives an Environmental Managers Association of British Columbia award recognizing leadership in marine environmental monitoring, highlighting its commitment to rigorous science, sustainable practices, and effective stewardship of coastal and harbour ecosystems.
A pilot project assessed efficient, repeatable methods for updating urban harbour ecological inventories, providing reliable spatial data to support land use planning, environmental protection, restoration priorities, and long-term monitoring of ecological change.
Archipelago was contracted by the Fraser River Pile and Dredge on behalf of Public Services and Procurement Canada to provide environmental monitoring services during the South Jetty Reconstruction project at the Esquimalt Graving Dock in the Greater Victoria area.
With a natural habitat bank planned for Greater Victoria’s Esquimalt Harbour, Archipelago in partnership with SNC Lavalin—was contracted by the Department of National Defence (CFB Esquimalt) to facilitate the project from an environmental perspective. This involved identifying the best locations for three rocky reefs, creating a design for each of the structures, and monitoring the construction and colonization of the new reefs.
